The Canadian Government gives an opportunity to skilled workers to settle in Canada and work there to make a contribution to their economy.

Canada Government have introduced several immigration program for express entry, they are as follows:

Programs for Canada Express Entry

Express Entry provides a pathway to permanent residence for skilled workers in Canada or overseas. For potential skilled foreign workers, Express Entry will result in fast processing times of six months or less.

Express Entry manages applications for permanent residence under these federal economic immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

Provinces and territories can also recruit candidates from Express Entry through their Provincial Nominee Programs to meet local labour market needs.

Create your profile

Express your interest in coming to Canada as a skilled worker by creating an Express Entry profile and providing information about your skills, work experience, language ability, education and any other details.

To qualify for the Express Entry pool, you must meet the criteria of at least ONE of three: federal economic immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program

The (FSW) category is prescribed as a class of persons who are skilled workers, who may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada, and who intend to reside in a province other than Quebec.

  • Federal Skilled Trades Program

The federal skilled trades class (FSTC) is prescribed as a class of persons who may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada as workers in a skilled trade occupation, and whointend to reside in a province other than the province of Quebec. The applicants should have an offer of employment for continuous full-time work for a total period of at least one year from up to two employers in that skilled trade occupation or hold a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade from a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.

  • Canadian Experience Class

The CEC is a permanent resident category for individuals with skilled work experience in Canada. It was developed for temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates with qualifying Canadian work experience.

Best to International Graduates:

CEC may offer the fastest and most simple path to achieving permanent residence. After completing a program or course of study at a Canadian educational institution, many international graduates are able to remain in the country on post-graduate work permits. If a graduate obtains at least one year of work in a skilled, professional or technical field, they may be eligible to apply Canadian Experience Classunder express entry program.

Express Entry Pool:

After you submit your profile, you will get a score to determine your place in the pool using the Comprehensive Ranking System. The system considers skills, work experience, language ability, education and other factors (e.g., strong French language skills, having a sibling in Canada, or a valid job offer in Canada, etc.) that contribute to economic success for immigrants once in Canada.

Invitation to Apply (ITA)

Applicant will be invited to apply for the following reasons:

  1. Nominated by a province or territory or
  2. Among the top ranked in the Express Entry pool based on their skills and experience.

After invitation applicant have 90 days to submit an online application for permanent residence in one of these programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Express Entry streams of the Provincial Nominee Program

Note: Process time for complete applications received is six months or less.

Provinces and territories

  • Applicant may qualify for a provincial or territorial nomination as part of Express Entry.
  • Provinces and territories are able to nominate candidates who meet their regional labour market needs.
  • Some provinces and territories search in the pool for candidates, while others require you to apply directly.
  • Eligibility and particular requirements for each province can be found on their province website.
  • If applicant is nominated through a Provincial Nominee Program, you will be invited to apply for permanent residence.

To be nominated by a province or territory, you must follow the instructions of particular province that you want to apply.
